Former NYC over Ohio Turnpike.
Title:  Former NYC over Ohio Turnpike.
Description:  The NYC ran on solid ground here until the early 50s when the turnpike was being built. This, of course, necessitated this bridge that I'm on. As you look down the turnpike toward the west you can see that it crosses a large bridge. The CVSR and the Cuyahoga River are on the valley floor. It must have been a scenic ride for train crews.

Former NYC.
Title:  Former NYC.
Description:  A victim of the 1968 PC merger, this former NYC line runs along the eastern edge of the Cuyahoga Valley. It once connected to what has become CSX just NE of the 77/480 interchange in Cleveland and has been abandoned all the way to Ravenna. A small portion exists in Kent [Hugo Stone] and is serviced by NS.

Title:  LE&P/NYC looking north and up at SR303.
Description:  It's a beautiful trail for all seasons. How about a ride in an RS3 along here? In 66 when I started at Kent State University, I used to cross the tracks that then existed here. Never did I think that they would soon be abandoned.

There are many other crossings where the trail crosses various roads that I took pictures of, but I didn't think that it would serve any further purpose to do so. In time I'll work north from Brandywine Rd. For now I thank you for looking.
